I know it was me that suggested this additional option to the site, but I couldn't be more pleased that Alfie has now implemented it.
To try it, it's best if you've asked your opponent to have some dice ready to use at home.
To set up a match, you need to go to the "Play Later" button and select who you want to play from the list (a 'friend', a past opponent, or enter an email address).
Select the match length, the type of match, whether you want a clock, pip count, or not etc., then click "Manual Dice" and confirm.
The match will then appear on your home screen in Backgammon Hub.
Once you're both ready to play, you'll be presented with the numbers 1 2 3 4 5 6.
This is for the opening roll, so just roll one die and click its number (it highlights) then click submit.
If you have rolled the same as your opponent, it won't move on, so you need to roll one die again, until you both roll different numbers.
After the initial roll, you'll be presented with two rows of numbers (one for each die).
Just click your two numbers, submit and make your move.
To speed things up, you can roll while the other player is moving, but be careful not to do this if you're considering doubling as it would be unfair to know what your next roll is going to be!
At the moment the Manual Dice option is only available for "Play Later" matches, but this means the match can be played over several sessions and doesn't have to be completed in one sitting.
Using your own dice rolls requires a certain amount of trust, but any decent player (all of us on here, surely) wouldn't cheat to secure a win.
Please give it a try when you can and report back on this thread to let us know how you get on!
Feel free to invite me to a manual dice match and we can play it as and when we can (even if it's a move at a time).
"Are you ready to roll the dice??" :) (apologies to Michy).

Backgammon Hub Admin Hi Alfie, I've discovered a glitch in the system... I just played John Georgiou and when we both clicked 'rematch', it just gave us a standard game without manual dice...
