PR-Luck data science project: data request

Hi Alfie,
Following our discussion about the data science/statistics project, I sent an email to admin@backgammonhub.com a few weeks ago with a request for the ~29,000 matches worth of data that you offered, with a brief description of some requirements for the file structure and data validity etc. Unfortunately, I have not yet received a response. I am sending this post as a reminder as I expect you check this forum more regularly, and also to relax some requirements for the structure of the data in case this was proving to be an awkward obstacle and delaying sending the data.
If you could reply to my original email (antonhodgetts@gmail.com) with the data in a tabular format (.csv would be ideal) that I can then manipulate for my purposes, that would be great. As long as each row represents a match with columns for; the match length, PR and Luck values for both players, and the match outcome, then I will be very happy. The columns for the 2 players don't need to be oriented around which player had better PR, I should be able to get it into that format myself as long as the pairs of PR and Luck columns refer to the same player in the match. In other words, "Player 1 PR", "Player 1 Luck", "Player 2 PR", "Player 2 Luck" would be suitable columns.
Anton

no way, that's pretty poor service Anton that you don't have your 29,000 matches for your school project yet. I'd ask for a refund off Alfie, for the developer fees he's charged you for his time.

Alan Summers 🇬🇧 (alansummers88) I did offer them to Anton to be fair!

Alan Summers 🇬🇧 (alansummers88) As a uni student, I get that we're all busy in life. This is not for school, or uni, or work (besides developing my career skills), this is a personal research project I actively want to do because it's statistically interesting and it covers a topic the Backgammon community cares a lot about: fair luck. I'm not expecting anything in return for all the time I'm putting into this, and that makes me more motivated and serious not less. I'm sure that comes through when I make a formal request for Alfie to send the data, a smaller but no less important task. I believe Alfie understands where I'm coming from, since Hub started as a personal coding passion project just the same, without expecting much in return besides voluntary contributions to give thanks. So on the topic of developer fees, I contributed, have you?
