Hi Brendan Burgess (brendan), you can enter a message with the proposed time, perhaps suggesting other times you can make. The time and message is sent by email to your opponent. You can also set your scheduling preferences, so your opponent has a rough idea what times you prefer when they are picking a time. Use the dropdown top-right where you see your username.
You can also email your opponent at any time by clicking the "More" button next to the match and selecting "Email".
If after a few attempts your opponent is still unresponsive, you can use the Contact Organiser button on the tournament page. The TD often has other ways to contact players.
Am not sure how Hub is different to emailing your opponent for a WBIF match when players are not responsive. If players don't respond, the only option is for the TD to give a walkover.
Hope this makes sense. Happy to take suggestions for any improvements!

Alfie Kirkpatrick [Developer] It's very different. The Hub makes no sense. You have to put in a time. You can't email without putting in a time. On WBIF, you email your opponent and don't put in a time until they agree. I have a time set for tomorrow morning but my opponent has neither agreed nor rejected it. I have no idea whether I am supposed to show up at 9 or not.

Brendan Burgess (brendan) as I mentioned you can email any time using More -> Email.
If you've proposed a time and there's been no response you should either check again for a response at the given time, or reschedule the match yourself for another time. If the time is not agreed by both players there is no forfeit and it needs to be rescheduled. If the time is agreed and one player doesn't turn up they will forfeit. Very occasionally there is a mix up in which case the TD will normally agree to reset the match so it can be played.
I'm not sure saying it makes "no sense" is quite fair. There are hundreds of matches being arranged successfully every week...

Alfie Kirkpatrick [Developer]Then explain the sense of forcing me to schedule a time without my opponent's agreement? It would be much better to just allow me to email my opponent suggesting a few times and let her come back to me to choose one or suggest alternatives.
I have not got the "one hour" reminder, so I assume my opponent is not going to show up at 9 am this morning.

Brendan Burgess (brendan) even if your opponent did not accepted your proposal in advance, you still need to come on Hub and check exactly at your proposed time to see if your opponent did agreed for your proposed hour or not ! That is because sometimes some players come in just few seconds before the proposed hour and accept your proposal (and if you don't notice this, then you will lose your match by forfeit).
BUT Hub can be used exactly in the same way we use WBIF for scheduling a match ! Example: if now is 10:28, I make a proposal to start at 10:30 on Hub (which obviously my opponent won't be able to accept it unless he is online and also available on the spot), and then I email my opponent (using the More button) telling him my availability and asking him for his availability. Then there is literally no difference between Hub and WBIF for the way we schedule our matches. The only real difference is that in WBIF our email addresses are revealed while in Hub are not.

Brendan Burgess (brendan) I found a small bug which was preventing players from emailing before proposing a time. This is fixed now, so if you prefer to start with an email, click More -> Email. I hope this gives you what you need.
